THESE STATE HOUSES.
After three years of btiilding State houses I think a scheme should now ho brought in for the building of workers' homos. There are a lot of workers -whoso salaries are nowhere near £t>oo per year, and though worthy i-itizon- in all ways. they do not seem eligible for the present State houses. While under the i»lea that there is a shortage of trade-men people are herded in flats and room®, men ran be found for the building of garage* "for the tenants of State houses."' and boat sheds. There are also a large number of renovations being carried out which could wait for a. later date. ATTIC.
