INFECTIOUS DISEASES.

AUCKLAND POSITION NORMAL. With a total oT 42 cases of infectious diseases in the Central Auckland district last month, as compared with 49 in September and 55 in August, generally healthy conditions are disclosed. Xo major variations in the figures are shown, and the range of diseases does not include any of special interest. In the total the distribntion is as follows (September figures being given in parentheses): — Scarlet fever, (> (4); pulmonary T. 8., 12 (10); erysipelas. 14 (14): puerperal fever, 2 (2); septic abortion, 8 (5). The total of infectious diseases reported in the Thames-Tauranga district was three compared with four the previous month.
