NO CHILDREN.

COUPLES' PROBLEM.

QUESTION OF ADOPTION.

"N.Z. WOMAN'S WEEKLY."

Should a childless couple adopt children! The writer of an interesting article on this subject in this week's issue of the '"New Zealand Woman's Weekly" says that she finds herself in a dilemma in which thousands of other married people must find themselves. After weighing the arguments for and against the writer says: ''We can't make up our minds and we still hesitate. But if we hesitate much 1 inger we shall be too'old either tt> receive joy from them (children) or to try to give it in return." Readers of the magazine are invited to solve the problem, and solutions accepted for publication will be |>ai<l for.

In the competition section this week there are the names of winners of '"Hot Shot" No. 2 contest as well as No. 5 '"Hot Shot" in the series.

Among other features in the issue is an interview with a film star who is now visiting New Zealand. The London representative of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly" writes about wartime weddings. Of particular interest to parents is a mother's solution of the problem of how to deal with questions by children as to sex—th.e subject of recent articles by the child guidance expert.

The home dressmaker will be interested in the eight free patterns from which readers of the magazine can choose this week, the designs including summer frocks for the adult and outfits for the young people. Directions are given for the knitting of a dainty little frock and bonnet for the baby. On the cooking page there arc recipes for doughnuts, pancakes, fritters and girdle scones.

The Centenary issue of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly," which will be published next week, will include special New Zealand stories and articles, fashions, and photographs from the Centennial Exhibition.
