Dr. Goohbels, addressing members of the Hitler \outh Movement, said: "If owing in puerile shyness people abroad are ashamed of propaganda I am nol. t• »<> shy to use it, even tendentious propaganda, which is a dangerous weapon only if directed against the people. It can be the greatest blessing if used in the service of I lie nation. "The st lipid British leaflets arc unable to harm us. Nobody listens to voices from enemy camps. British lies cannot disturb I lie German people's calm balance of mind. "Who reus during the Great War British propaganda was a bogy to the German people and the Army Command, to day it is nothing more than a laughing stock. There is no need for us to counter lies with lies. We give only the naked truth." Here is an example or Germany's domestic propaganda, as quoted by the American pews-magazine "Time." "Editor-in-Chief Hans Fritsche of the Nazi broadcasting services frothed at the month in German for 13 minutes over the German air replying to a claim by Mr. Churchill that one week the Nazi U-boats had not molested any British ship. "'So that is what that dirty gangster! thinks! Who does that filthy liar think he is fooling? "'So Mr. Churchill—that bloated swine—spouts through his dirty teeth that in the last week no English ship ha# been molested by German submarines? He does, indeed? "'There you have the twisted and diseased mind of this infamous profiteer and specialist in stinking lying. Naturally those British ships have not been molested; they have been sunk.' "In an Knglish version (four minutes) the announcer said: — "'Mr. Churchill stated that no British ships had been molested during the last week. This statement is true, if Mr. Churchill does not regard the sinking of a ship w molestation.'"
