DRIVER NOT GUILTY.

JURY'S PROMPT VERDICT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Without retiring, a jury in the Supreme Court to-day returned a verdict of not guilty in a case in which Donald Nisbet, truck driver, aged 26, was charged with manslaughter. The case was a sequel to an accident at Lyall Bay on the afternoon of July 18, [when Shirley Ann Blackburn, aged five [years, lost her life when struck by a lorry driven by accused.

Mr. Justice Blair intimated that he was bound to say the Crown had not presented a case which would entitle the jury to return a verdict of guilty.
