The directors of rli e Bank of New Zealand announce an interim dividend of 1/ a •Jiiaro on ordinary shares and 3% per cent; on I) long term mortgage, payable on December 9. The rates are unchanged. GOLDEN BAY CEMENT. HIGHER PROFIT EARNED. A net profit of £7862 is reported by the Golden Bay Cement Company. Limited, Wellington, for the year ended June 30. Thie compares with £7191 in the previous year and with £3727 in 1937. The profit was struck after providing for depreciation and a sum of £9660 for income tax and social security tax, against £4880 in 1938. ' The directors have set aside £ 1000 for marine insurance reserve and propose a dividend of 7 per cent, against 6 per cent last year. This will absorb £5074, leaving £5092 to be carried forward, against £3304 brought in.
