PRICE FIXATION.
DANGER IB STRESSED.
(From Our Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, Tuesday,
The question rankled in his mind as to whether or not the powers that be deliberately wished to smash up the commercial system, said Mr. M. G. C. McCatil at to-night's meetinjr of the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, when the announcement on price fixation was discussed. This was a suggestion, not a statement, and he hoped that the Government could not only deny the suggestion but give an assurance that such was not its endeavour.
It was decided to request the As«ociated Chambers of Commerce to make representations to the Government. Satisfaction was expressed with what had already 'been done by the Associated Chambers.
