"N.Z. WOMAN'S WEEKLY." NEW SERIAL, STORY. The subject of Adolph Hitler's health is discussed in an article in this week's issue of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly." The writer mentions some of the many maladies that are supposed to be affecting the Fuehrer, and says: "He has every reason to fear an early death, and to his way of thinking his death would be disaster for Germany. Many others dread the day when a new leader must be chosen, for that day might mark the beginning of the destruction of all Hitler's work, and the return of revolution."
Beginning this week is a new serial story, "Better to Have Loved," from the pen of Dorothy Quentin, who is in private life Mrs. John Batten, of Auckland. The mystery serial, "Reckless Lady," is concluded this week. One Bhort story completes the fiction section.
In this week's magazine there will be found the second series of words in the "Hot Shots" contest which carries weekly cash prizes. Entries for No. 1 contest close on Saturday next. The housewife will see in October 26 issue of a cookery competition.
Readers of the "New Zealand Woman's Weekly" will find nine attractive pattern designs included in the cur-j rent issue and of these they may select one free pattern. Their attention has again been drawn to the alterations in postage rates and the procedure to be followed in sending for patterns. Two styles in headxvear for summer days are illustrated this. week. Then directions socksare given for the knitting of a tailored cardigan-jumper. Next week instructions will .be given for the knitting of men's socks, mittens, scarf, balaclavas and cholera belt.
Parents will find of interest the second article on the sex bogey written by the child guidance expert. There are several other feature articles, including news by air mail as to how London is facing up to war days.
