ADMISSIONS NEXT YEAR.
260 APPLICATIONS FOR ENTRY-
About 200 teachers will be released from the Auckland Training College this year, against last year's quota of 228, said the secretary, Mr. D. W. Dunlop, in a report to the Education Board to-day, when a memorandum regarding the admission of students in 1940 was received from the Education Department.
Mr. Dunlop added that 200 applications had been received for entrv nsxt ear, while the Department had advised that the quota fixed for 1040 was 221. In addition to Auckland students, ths Auckland College would admit 39 students from the Taranaki province and possibly five additional students who may be selected under special quota reserved for native applicants.
