POPULARITY OF AIR ARM.
SYDNEY, October 17
The first eight days of recruiting in New South Wales for the second Australian Imperial overseas force resulted in 4646 volunteers being accepted and 686 rejected. New South Wales' quota is 6500. Victoria's quota of 6000 volunteers was filled in four days. Queensland lias recruited over 2000 of the 2500 volunteers required. Although recruiting for the expeditionary air force began only yesterday, more than 1300 applications have a - ready been received in Sydney. the war started 10,000 young' ™e n New South Wales have volunteered /or the air arm. ——
