Onions. —The Californian onions released by the Internal Marketing Division are meeting with a ready demand. The quality is not' quite so good as in previous yea is. but 'lwis'k business is being done in this line. Prices remain unaltered at 20/ per luilf. No importations of Canadian onions will arrive before at leaist a month. Grain Section. Wheat.—The special 10-sack deliveries ex Government stocks have now been completed for Septemiber. These facilities will ! again be available between October 6 and ' 14, and orders are now being taken as i before—minimum 10-sack lots. There has been no alteration in values. Maize. —More plentiful supplies of maize are now coming forward from producing centres, and the market is fairly well supplied. In the main the quality is good. Current ex-store prices remain at 7/3 to 7/o per bushel, whilst 10-sack lots, deliverydirect ex supplies arriving, are 7/ per bushel. Oats and Chaff.—A much brisker demand has been apparent for chaff, although oats 'have been, if anything, rather quiet. However, values remain unaltered: Oliaff, £10 2/6 to £10 10/; and oats, 4/2 to 4/6. Bran and Pollard. —Further supplies of Australian bran and pollard have arrived and good stocks are held. A brisk demand is still being experienced for these lines, latest prices being: Bran. £8 5/ to £0: pollard, £7 17/6 to £8 10/. Several Australian shippers have notified merchants that it will be necessary to establish letters of credit l>efore future shipment* will be made. This fact, together with the expectation till a t freights from Australia will be increased, makes the future position of Australian bran and pollard at the moment a little obscure. I
