TO WOULD-BE RECRUITS.

"With reference to the National Military Reserve now being formed, it lias been decided to institute a special register of those applicants who prefer that their services should, if possible, be used in thp naval forces of New Zealand,' said the Minister of Defence, the Hon. t. Jones, in a statement today.

"Such men should complete a card for enrolment in the New Zealand National Reserve in the ordinary way, and if they a "- v experience at sea should insert particulars on the back of the card. These cards will be referred bv the Army authorities to the Naval Department, and in the event of war or an emergency such men may be called up for naval service instead of military service.
