SPONSORS ASKED.
FOR CENTENNIAL FLOAT,
MILK COUNCIL'S SUGGESTION.
Offering to circularise various sections of the milk trade with the object of interesting them in sponsoring a float for the Centennial pageantry procession of 1940, the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council, at yesterday's meeting, met half-way a request from the women's sub committee of the Auckland Centennial Council.
The request from tlie sub-committee was that it iva# fitting that the industry of producing and marketing milk should sponsor the Pioneer Motherhood Float, commemorating the sacrifices of the pioneer mothers who founded the country. The cost to the sponsors would be approximately £100.
Tiie chairman, Mr. I. J. Gokktine, said tlie matter was one for the whole of the trade and moved accordingly, an amendment by Mr. H. I". W. Mcikle, that the council should donate £2-3, being deferred in the meantime. Air. Meikle said it would be good advertising for the milk trade.
