NOVICES SHOW SPEED.
The middle grass, although inclined to cut out a little, wa* in fairly good order for fast work at Takanini this morning. Inrer (Coleman) and Tc Poto (Parsons) ran five furlongs in 1.6 1-5, the former being the more impressive. Noisy Night (Ferguson) sprinted home over the last three furlongs of his work, but was not timed. Proud Fox (MeMinn) was a length in front of Gladynev (Smith) at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.6 1-5, Siinoln taking 1.6 to traverse the same ground. Arvakur (O'Brien) was half a length in front of Anion (Clarke) at the end of three furlongs in 39 2-ss. Glen Connell (Ferguson) was not extended to run six furlongs in 1.25. Princess Val (Parsons) and Lovaals (Coleman) ran three furlongs in 3818, finishing together. Orelio (Smith) was responsible for .the West five furlongs, completing the distance in 1.5 2-5. He worked well. Flood Tide (Stratfon) covered half a mile in 525, while Namara (Cleaver) was eased up over the last furlong of six, his time being 1.22. Merrymeer (Kingi) rati two furlongs down the back in 265. and Tahiti (Coker) was a length in front of Vaalso (MeMinn) at the finish of three furlongs in 40b. Valamito (Injjlis) was more impressive than Round Cp (Clarke) over three furlongs in 30\2-ss. while Wynardo (Logan) sprinted half a mile, but was not timed. Goinf Comfortably. Gay Movie (Parsons) was going comfortably while traversing six furlongs in 1.22 3-5, the first three taking 40s. Full Hand (Smith) completed half a mile in 53 2-ss, and Bachelor King (Bartle) pleased more than Vaalstar (Kingi) at the end of five /urlongs in 1.7. The Dozer Logan) finished clear of Tutor (Cleaver) over three furlongs In 39 3-ss, Tutor continuing for another round. There was nothing between Brazilian (Matthews) and Milanion (Beguley) at the completion of five furlongs in 1.7 4-5. although the former was the more impressive. Mazir (Parsons) finished a length in front of Telleom (Walters) over half ft mile in 555. Mazir was to increase the pace. Hunting Bee (Bartle) ran three furlongs in 30 3-ss, time upon which ebe could have improved. GrUndora (Parsons) reeled off three furlongs in 38 4-ss. doing Ilis work well. Philcourt (Kingi) and Plueron (Bartle) covered five furlongs in 1.7 3-5. Philcourt being two lengths in front at the post. Queen City (Fearn) again worked well over three furlongs, taking 38 4-ss. Estro (Curwen) occupying 38 3-ss. Kentucky; (Hatwell) was a length in front of Payette (SpinJey) after getting the best of the start over two furlongs run in 25 2-.V. Could Hava Don* Better. Valiineen (Qucdley) ran five furlongs in 1.9, but could have done a good deal better. Hunter's Rase (Bond) sprinted the last two furlongs of her work in 25 3-os, Inquisitor (Bond) taking 44 3-5s for his last three. Birthday Boy (Verner) and Te Katviti (Fearn) ran five furlongs in 1.6 1-5, the former, on the outside, going eom.fortajbly at the finish. .Tack Tar (McIlroy) and Gamos (Fearn) were together at the end of six furlong* in 1.23. time upon which both could have improved. Pah*stro (Curwen) ran the last half-mile of. her. work comfortably' in 575. while Fitst Gold Money (Walters) and Veritable (Ferguson) completed five furlongs in 1.10, both being under a good hold at the-finish. The Dai»b<?r (Tinker) completed his work by running I!he last three furlongs oMiis task in 42 3-ss. while Tavern Gay (Kingi) and King Louis (Bartle) showed dasih in a sTirint up the straight. Buchanecr (Hatwell) and High Crown (Spinley) were together over half a mile in 53 l-ss. Gavmiss (Hatwell) nprinted from the five to the three in 25 3-ss. Miss Valerie (Curwen) also worked keenly over three furlonp* in 37 3-ss. She relished flic conditions. The Vagls—-Soa Sorx* filly (Kingi) was too good for Lady Fox (Bartle) over a similar distance in 40s.
