LONDOX, August 30.

An Independent Cable Service message from Budapest states that for the first time in many months, the censorship has relaxed sufficiently for newspapers to express clear doubts regarding Germany's firmness in the face of the British warnings.

Both the Government paper and the Catholic organ report "a sensational weakening of Germany's demands," and the possibility that Germany would be content if Danzig and the Corridor were put under international control of the Great Powers.

The Berlin newspaper, "Frankfurter Zeitung,' says" that the German demand for Danzig and the Corridor is an indispensable prerequisite to all efforts aiming at a solid basis for European peace. It is claimed that Poland violated the German-Polish treaty of 1929 by stopping a privileged express train from Danzig to Berlin at the Corridor frontier. Information reaching Basle. Switzerland, reveals extreme depression in public opinion in Germany, and even states that some German garrison regiments have mutinied. Workers are agitating for the release of their comrades from concentration camps. Many shops are closing in towns and villages.

Rumania has resumed the oil deliveries to Germany, which have been suspended since mid-August.

The K.L.M. (Dutch) Line is continuing its services to Australia, also the French Line to Bangkok, but the Italo-German Mediterranean air services have been cancelled. LONG TELEGRAM. POPE AND ROOSEVELT. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LOXDON, August 30. "The Times" Rome correspondent says that the Pope telegraphed to President Roosevelt at length, endorsing President Moscicki's disposition for negotiations. He said it should be encouraged and fostered. The Italian Government is keeping in the closest, contact with the Pope.
