QUEEN CARNIVAL.
PLANS ORGANISED. PAPATOETOE CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL. The Pipatoetoe Centennial Executive has decided upon a ladies' rest room and Plunket room as the form of the Centennial memorial for the district. Arrangements are being put in hand by the organiser, Mr. J. B. McKinnev, for the holding of a queen carnival effort. It has been decided to have three princesses, representing the northern and southern section* and the Plunket Society. Nominations are being received for the district candidates, who are to engage in an elimination contest for two weeks prior to the launching of the Mayoral campaign. The candidates will be introduced at a social gathering in the Town Hall. Four candidates have so far been nominated in each area, and widespread interest is being evinced in the coming contest.
