ALL BLACK TRIALS.
AUCKLAND NOMINATIONS. NORTH ISLAND HOPES ALSO. The Auckland Rugby Union's sole selector, Mr. F. W. Lucas, announced this afternoon the players being nominated for the North Island Rugby fifteen, which will meet South Island in the annual match at Wellington on September 23, and also the names of additional players being nominated for the All Black trials.
The North Island team nominations are:—Backs, X. Pearman, D. Brady and J. Dick; forwards, H. F. McLean, J. Oilmore, W. N. Carson, R. R. Hull, C. S. Pepper.
All these players, with the addition of W. Hare and J. Molloy, backs, ami W. Smith, forward, will be nominated for the All Black trials.
The first All Blaek trial will be hel<l prior to the inter-Island game on September 23, another will be held on September 27, and two more on the following Saturday. Further trials will be held in the 1940 season, prior to the selection of the Xew Zealand team to tour South Africa.
