STERLING VALUES DROP. 1 DOLLARS IN DEMAND. FRANC REMAINS STEADY. i _____ (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 28. The pound sterling is quoted at 4.17V4 to the American dollar and the' French franc at 175%. Prior to the latest war crisis the pound ■terlin# had been steady in recent months at just over 4.68 to the American dollar and the French franc at 176%. The decline is reflected in the daily quotations issued by the local trading fonnks. NEW ZEALAND QUOTATIONS.
