SIX ARRESTS.
GAMING CHARGES.
THREE MEN REMANDED,
Arrested when Detective-Sergeants J. Trethewev and F. N. Aplin raided premises at Warwick Chambers, Queen Street, late yesterday afternoon, six men appeared before Mr. O. O. Ohisholm, S.M., at a special sitting of the Police Court at o p.m.
Clarence William Russell. for whom Mr. Terry appeared. wa<- charged with being the •ccupier of premises in Warwick Chambers and using them as a common gaming house.
He Wei* remalided to appear 011 Friday bail of £100 being allowed.
Sydney Kddowes, clerk, and Vincent Edward Hickey, clerk (.Mr. Terry), charirerl with assisting in the managenient of a coniiiion gaining house. were also remanded to appear on Friday on hail of £10(1 each.
Pleading guilty to a charge of being found without lawful excuse in a common gaming house. Arthur Watson, labourer, was fined £.'? and costs: Alfred Thomas Boyd, salesman, and Thomas Eugene Hayes, salesman, were each fined £2 and costs.
