R.A.F. EXHIBIT.

MODERN TRAINING METHODS. British Official Wireless. (Received 2.30 p.m.) RUGBY, August 23. In the exhibit of the Royal Air Force at Radio Olympia, which is to be opened to-day, a "Link trainer" will be on public exhibition for the first time. This trainer is named after the inventor. It is designed to represent the cockpit of a modern aircraft. It contains all the controls and equipment of a real cockpit and with it all conditions of flying can be' simulated on the ground —particularly those prevailing in fog or at night, when a pilot, . flying blind, relies entirely upon his instruments and wireless apparatus. Other Royal Air Force exhibits will be hand bomb-release gear, modern service radio transmitting and receiving sets, direction-finding apparatus and a demonstration of wiring boards and switch- units.
