TO BE EXTRADITED.
ON MELBOURNE CHARGE. MAN'S ARREST IN AUCKLAND. A man arrested In Auckland on a provisional warrant issued in Melbourne, Victoria, on July 4, Thomas Frederick Berghoff (42). appeared in the Police Court to-day before Mr. V. If. Levien, S.M., who made an order for his extradition to .'Melbourne in the'euetody of Detective A. J, White. Berghoff was charged that at Prahan, Victoria, between Slay 1(5 and <7line 23, being a clerk or servant in the employ of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, he stol« a sewing machine. Detective A. ,1, White, of Melbourne, produced the original warrant which he ♦■aid he read to the accused on August I 18. Berghoff admitted he was the person named in the warrant. Detective White I asked that accused bo remanded to .Melbourne where the offence wue alleged to have been committed and where the original warrant was issued. Evidence was also given by DetectiveSergeant J. Trethewev, who said he arrested accused by virtue of a provisional warrant. Accused admitted he was the person named in the warrant. The magistrate then made the order for accused's extradition. Krtonrted by Detective White, accused will leave this evening in the Munowai for Australia.
