Mr. N. Gibson will leave for Wellington this evening by the Limited express. Mr. W. R. Fee returned from Wellington by this morning's Limited express. Mr. F. J. E. Moore, District Public Trustee at Hamilton, has left for a visit to Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Xathan arrived from Wellington yesterday, and are at the Grand Hotel. Dr. A. W. Beveridge, of Hamilton, returned this morning in the Monowai after a short visit to Suva. Captain H. M. Barnes, officer-in-charge of the Devonport Xaval Base, will leave for Wellington by the Limited express this evening. Mr. Jacob Elliott, member of the Railways Superannuation Fund Board, will be a passenger for Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. Paul Pascoe, of Christchurch, has been appointed the temporary advisory architect to the Centennial Branch of the Department of Internal Affaire. Pastor W. M. Garner, of the Onehunga Congregational Church, has accepted a call to the Palmerston North Congregational Church. He is. to begin his ministry there on September 17. Dr. M. H. Director-General of Health, and Dr. T. R. Ritchie, Director of Public Hygiene, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. L. X. Larsen, officer in charge of the meteorological office at the Royal Xew Zealand Air Force station at Wigram, has been transferred on promotion to Mechanics' Bay, Auckland. His main duty will be the preparation of forecasts for the Empire flying boat service across the Taxman. Mr. Larsen was educated at Westport, and later graduated in science at the Canterbury Universitv College. Previously he was at the Dominion Meteorological Office in Wellington, and also on the staff of the Magnetic Observatory. Christchurch. He is a pilot in the Civil Air Reserve.
