SCOTS COMPANIES.

BIGGER ESTABLISHMENT.

(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

An increase in the establishment of the Scottish companies was announced to-day by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones.

"Originally it was intended that the strength of each company in the four centres should be 125," said the Minister. "It has been decided to increase the strength of these units to a total in all ranks of 150."

The Minister said it was understood that companies had waiting lists that would provide the increased numbers. However, no further increase would !be permis sable, and those not successful in being selected could enlist in one of the other territorial unit*.
