Possibility Of Blockades In
Shanghai.
ARMY MAY TAKE NEW STAND,

SHANGHAI, August 16,
A Japanese spokesman indicated that a blockade of the International Settlement of the French concessions is possible. He declared that the conditions prevailing in Shanghai suggested that the implications of the agreement between Britain and Japan are not realised in the International Settlement.
If activities assisting Marshal Chiang Kai-shek were continued the Japanese Army would have to take a new stand.
