Public Must Dip Deeply Into Pockets. STATE OF N.S.W. FINANCES. (Received 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Stnte Premier, Mr. A. Mair, said that legislation to provide for increased taxation to compensate for reduced revenue would be introduced immediately Parliament reassembled next week. "The public will be asked to dip rather deeply into their pockets, but everything possible will be done to distribute the additional taxation over a very wide field," he added.
