AUCKLAND ORPHANAGES.
REQUEST FOR COLLECTION.
(From Our Correspondent.)
HAMILTON, Wednesday.
"Although we are sympathetic towards these organisations, I feel that we have enough street collections in Hamilton already," said the Mayor, Mr. H. D. Caro, at the meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council to-night, when a letter was received from the Auckland Orphanages' Advisory Council asking the council to organise a street collection for Auckland orphanages.
On the motion of the Mayor it was decided to receive the letter.
Authority was granted to the Hamilton St. John Ambulance Association for holding a street collection on October 24.
