U.S. BUSINESS MEN'S PLANS.
A much better understanding with Australia and New Zealand was apparent in the United States, said Mr. Frank Goldberg, who arrived in the Monterey to-day on his ninth trip round the world. In the past five months, he said, he had visited every State in America, and he was sure that a closer connection betAveen the regions fronting the Pacific was coming. He cited as evidence the intention id' American manufacturers to extend their operations to Australia and New Zealand. He had visited more than 100 factories in America, and a big proportion were planning to establish themselves in this part of the ; world. j» The southern States, he said, appeared to be prosperous, but general conditions i were still uncertain. A tremendous ' political feeling was slowing up business. | In regard to politics, he said, it was ! his opinion that if Mr. Roosevelt stood I for a third term as President he would be returned.
