COLONIAL QUESTIONS.
COMMONS COMMITTEE PLAN. British Official Wireless. (Received 10 a.m.) RUGBY, August 3. In a statement on the proposal for a joint Parliamentary Committee on colonial questions, the Prime Minister. Mr. Chamberlain, in the House of ComI mons. said the Government appreciated ! the anxietv of members that an opportunity should be afforded the House of 1 keeping in closer touch with colonial problems. The particular proposal for a Parliamentary committee no doubt presented certain'advantages, but it raised issues of Parliamentary procedure and Constitutional practice of a far-reaching character which required very careful consideration. He hoped to make a more definite statement of the Government's intentions in the autumn. '
