Australian Cruiser's Visit To

New York.

CROWDED 13 DAYS' VISIT. (Received 12.30 p.m.) XEW YORK, August 3. Extensive plans have been made for the entertainment of the officers and crew of the new cruiser for the Australian Navy, the Perth, and their participation in Australia Day at the World's Fair on August 11.

The cruiser, which is due to arrive early on Friday morning, will fire a salute, off the Statue of Liberty, which will be echoed from the military post on nearby Governor's Island, and anchoring at Lower Manhattan, will begin a 13-day stay here.

Their time will be exceptionally crowded M-ith activities varying from the official calls on naval and military commanding officers in New York and on the Mayor, Mr. F. H. La Guardia, on the first day, to many dinner and theatre parties, both private and public, throughout the succeeding weeks, culminating in extensive ceremonies at the World's Fair.

After the ceremonies there will be five "free days," during which the vessel's personnel will be able to follow their own bent for entertainment and amusement.
