Australian Swimming Coach Sued By A Woman-

INCIDENT AT PICNIC

HONOLULU, August 1

Miss Mary Jane Birkelund, of Honolulu, formerly of Hollywood, sued the Australian swimming coach, Hay, for 20,000 dollars' damages for an eye injury sufl'ered at a picnic ten days ago.

It was alleged that Hay "negligently and carelessly threw a bottle, striking the plaintiff and cutting and bruising her head in the vicinity of the eye."

Hay is in Honolulu pending settlement of negotiations with Japan for a swimming trip.
