DISPUTES IN SPAIN. I Franco Facing Flare Up Among Opposing Factions. FALANGISTS AND MILITARY. United Tress Association. —Copyright. (Receiver! 0..",0 a.m.) HKXDAYK. July 24. Reports reaching the. Spanish frontier indicate that General Franco has taken extraordinary measures to prevent a dispute between the Falangists and the military leaders from flaring tip into serious disorder. A decree prohibits an public meetings. Xon-commisMoned officers demobilised after the war have been recalled to the colours. Kvidence Is accumulating that General Franco is facing a serious situation as a result of a bid for power by various elements.
The correspondent <>f the Associated Press of America at Hendayo. says it appears that the pro-Italian Falangists, whose leader is the Minister of the Interior. Senor Suner, General Franco's brother-in-law. have gained the ascendancy. The first sign of this was the removal of General Dellauo, Army Commander, on Friday, also General Vague. Both recently made speeches advocating drastic action by the Army in order to secure Spain for the Spaniards. General Dellauo publicly complained that whereas he. and other leaders had been largely responsible for the Nationalist victory, none had received honours which had been showered on foreigners. A decree banning meetings gives Senor Suner complete control of all demonstrations.
