His resignation wits received with regret at a meeting of the council yesterday. Congratulatory reference was made to Mr. Firth's services to the museum over a long period, Mr. Gilliert Archey, director, stating that praise for the geology section had been given by the recent American scientific expedition which visited New Zealand, Mr. Firth being responsible for this section of the museum's activities.
