"HUSH-HUSH" 'PLANES.

ORDERED BY AUSTRALIA. 400 M.P.H. INTERCEPTOR FIGHTERS (From Our Own Correspondent.) SYDNEY, July 14. An unrevealed number of "hushhush" British fightinjr 'planes has been ordered for the Royal Australian Air Force. They are interceptor fighters capable of a service speed of 400 miles' an hour, and are still on the secret list. They are not, however, of the ultrahigh speed type developed for the de-j fence of London, because the short range of these would make them useless for Australian conditions. The Minister of Defence, Mr. Street, hopes for-delivery; in 12 months.
