Alpha Junior Lodge, Xo. 1, 1.0.0. F., X.X., on J liik* 27 .-tilled a highly successful concert mid <lanet'. During the course of tilt; mcuing \arious items were rendered liy members and others. The Alpha Junior members greatly appreciated the gesture of the Pride of Devonport L<idge, of this Order, which sent a partv of its members to represent that lodge. The ladies' social committee attended to the catering and a "sit down" supper was greatly enjoyed. The Loyal United Brothers Lodge of the National Independent Order of Odd Fellows held its annual reunion in the Pitt Street Hall, a very good attendance being recorded. After the usual business meeting the evening took the form of a smoke concert, the musical interludes being in the capable hands of Bin. A. Austin. Many toasts were honoured. perhaps the most popular being that of the United Brothers Lodge, proposed by district secretary Brother K. (I. Harnett, and Old Members proposed by P.P.G.M. Bro. F. Matthews." The X.G. Brother E. Matthews suitably replied on behalf of the lodge, and Bro. \Y. Bain, the oldest member present, responded to the veteran-' toast. Opportunity was taken to pay tribute to the secretary and treasurer of the I Loyal Pioneer Lodge, which ha« now amalgamated with the United Brothers. Bro. E. Buskhardt, for many years treasurer, was presented with a very nice bag. Bro. F. J. Hammond eulogised the work of Isro. F. A. Cork, the secretary of Loyal Pioneer and trusted his health would allow him to serve many more vcars of usefulness in the national Order. The lodge intended to honour him on a future oceiu-ion. Bro. ('. Barrow. was presented with a past-grand's collar for services rendered to Ihe pioneer Lodge. A very happy evening concluded with the hearty Miiging of "Auld Lang Syne." Alberta Lodge. Xo. T.0.0.F.. X.Z. recently made a change in the secretariat. the duties of 111 - oilier being taken over by Bro. Walter ('. McCoinbie. I'.f!.. who has been associated with this lodge for many yiars. always in active membership. lie has gixi-n trojan service t", the lodge and Order over a con-iderab!" period of time and organised the ladies' lodge at Morning'side. now in its lift!i year. The installation was performed: with full ri'ual by the D.D.0.M., Bro. F. M. Francis. assisted bv the! T.P.D.D.fJ.M.. Bro. H. A. Blakelev. and an cflicient team of acting-tJrand Lodge oflicers. After the conclusion of this ceremony the X.O. of the lodge. Bro. .1. J. Monnghan. requested that the D.D.O.M. would. <m behalf of the otlii crs and members of "the lodge, make a presentation to the retiring secretary. Bro. F. S. Xewbold, (1.W.. who still retains his active membership in the lodge. This duty was ably performed by Bro. F M. Francis, who eulogised the work performed by Bro. F. S. Xewbold for the lodge and Order during the course of some .'!7 years. In making the presentation which took the shape of an engraved inkstand, he also presented I a letter signed by the presiding olliccr of the lodge asking that Bro. F. S. Xew- I bold would be pleased to accept honor- i arv life membership of the lodge as a { slight token of the very great esteem in which Bro. Xewbold was held by all j past and. present oflicers and members of the lodge. j

The Endeavour Lodge, 1.0. G.T., met on Wednesday evening in the Dundonald Street Hall. In spite of the drenching rain, a good number of members attended, including a party from the Enterprise Lodge, Onehunga. Sister E. Cant, C.T., presided, and welcomed the visitors, who included the D.C.T.. Bro. Pace, and some of the district officers. This was the first meeting in the new meeting place, and members were unanimous in approving the change. It was decided to alter the weekly meeting night to Tuesday, and it is hoped to regain the old strength of the lodge. Bro. Harvey, C.T., of Enterprise Lodge, and the D.C.T. congratulated the Endeavour members upon their efforts and wished them every success in their new home. A pleasant social hour was spent after the meeting. Tlie Star of Piako Lodge, U.A.0.D.. met on Monday evening,' the A.D., Bro. J. T. Wright, presiding over a good attendance of members. The secretary. Bro. .T. Brown, was unavoidably absent through sickness, and P.D.P. Bro.' Maiden, acted in his stead. A warm welcome was extended to the D.P., Bro. E. V. Slyfield, who was asked to install the J.fJ.. Bro. K. Simm. into his position, P.D.P. Bro. H. Gallagher acting as M.C. An invitation was received from the Loyal Jubilee Lodge and accepted with thanks. At the close of the business the lodge went into harmony, a very happy time being spent.

The anniversary dance of the Loyal Avon Lodge. M.U.T.0.0.F.. was held in the Avondale Town Hall, about 2.50 members and friends being in attendance. A very enjoyable time was spent by all. Excellent dance music was provided and the duties of master of ceremonies were admirably carried out by Bro. M. Smith. The success of the evening was largely contributed to by the energetic manner in which the social committee, led by the social secretary. Sister Jean Smith, carried out their duties.

The Bird of Promise Juvenile Tent. 1.0.R.. met on Tuesday even in", the chief ruler, Bro. F. Xorris, presiding over a very large attendance of members The business was chief]v of a routine nature and was dealt with carefully but promptly. The programme for the'evening was in the hands of the oflicers and a very enjoyable time was spent with games.
