RELIEF WORK STRIKES.
WIDESPREAD TROUBLE IN U.S.A. (Received 9.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, July 11. As the nation-wide strike of Works Progress Administration workers entered upon its crucial stage, bills were hurriedly introduced in Congress to restore wage levels. The fh e-day period of continued absence allowed on relief works expired last night, and tens of thousands will face dismissal to-day. A policeman at Minneapolis was killed and several others were injured in a riot.
