PLENTY OF ROOM IN N.Z. FOR REFUGEES.

WOULD BE ASSET.

Asylum In Dominions Urged

In Lords Debate.

AUSTRALIA COMMENDED

United Press Association. —Copyright. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, July 5. Several references were made to the Dominions and the refugee problem during a brief debate in the House of Lords initiated by Lord Lytton, who said that private charity in Britain had raised i; 5,01)0,000 for refugees. The Kinpirc should do more. There were many undeveloped tracts in Australia, Xew Zealand, Rhodesia and elsewhere. The Bishop of Clm-hester (Dr._ G. K. A. Bell) coin mended the Australian help. He thought there was plenty of room in New Zealand also, if the imagination of the people there could be roused. Lord Dufferin and Ava, replying, said that the Home Office was examining the possibility of keeping some after the age of IH, as British citizens! He agreed that refugees are an investment, but the British Empire cannot shoulder the burden alone.
