Both full-backs were severely tested, and stood up to it well, while Swift, in goal in place of Appleyard. who is on the injured list, brought off some good saves. The scorers for Onehunga were Wallace and Forrester, while Angas secured Thistle's only goal.
SUBURBS HAVE OFF DAY. Eastern Suburbs failed to reproduce the form that save them a victory over Shore tlio previous week when they met Grey Nylin at St. Heliers. and the youiiK "L.ynnites" took full advantage of their opportunities to gallop away from thvir older opponents to the tune of (i—l. Grimmer, (irey Lynn sualie. iravo one of his best displays of the season, and highest praise is due to him for keeping out many hard shots. He confirmed the impression he gave earlier In the season, that he is one of the most promising goal-keepers in the city. lladrup anil I. Browne liroke up many Suburbs attacks by powerful kicking and fearless tackling, and other backs prominent were B. (irice and S. Browne, the latter a recent convert from Kugby. ('a)laghan and <;. firiee were constantly danirerous in the forward line, anil Dowler. playing his first game for several weeks following an injury, was full of energy. Turner, Cunimintrs and Welch were the best of the forwards, but all seemed jaded, and lacked finish. ABEL'S GREAT RECOVERY. Though three goals down at half-time Abels showed better combination in the second spell of ll.eir mat.b with Mount Albert (iiaiiiinar Old Hoys at Western Sprinirs and squared the wore at .".-all. liiisciiherg was sound in old Hoys" citadel, Hearing cleanly and to advantage, and Snee.l n-Ml Sims were a sound defence. Ward, iic centre half, played well, especially in I lie second sjM'll. Also prominent were It. Col,- and <;. Cole, who gave displays of clever footwork and worried the enemy. Necdliain, at outside left, showed up with sonic line solo efforts and Fyfie was sound. Chirk, in the centre, distributed the play well.

Davies. at loft half, was an etiieient tackier and sent jrood passes to KriiniT. (he inside left, who played brilliantly, ninklne openings and combining well witli K. Kkiiiun on the win?.
