RECORD GATE RECEIPTS.
WHANGAREI EXHIBITION.
(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. Gate receipts totalling £708 7/ for the Winter Exhibition, whidi came to a triumphant conclusion on Saturday night, constitute a record for the Whangarei A. and P. Society, the previous best figure being £057 10/ in 1938. Other years' takings were: £646 in 1937, £030 in 1936. £555 in 1935, and £270 in 1934, when the tide turned for the better. The satisfactory position is particularly gratifying to the committee and secretary owing to the fact that most of the week was marred by adverse weather conditions.
