THE RADIO TELEPHONE.
IMPROVED SERIAL SYSTEM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this" day. The first of six new steel towers to be erected at the top of Tmakori Hill to improve the aerial system of ZLW, the Government wireless station, was hoisted this morning in 35 minuter; without a hitch. A Post Office official explained that the stage lias been reached when it is desired to improve tlie existing services, including the radio telephone service, and this :•> being done not by increasinjr the size of' the transmitting apparatus but by the adoption of a better aerial system, with- six steel towers spread out along the ridge tops. These towers will be at the same level, so that the masts will vary in length from 120 ft to 155 ft. The old eteel tower will eventually be removed.
