BENEFITS DOUBLED.

MILK SUPPLY IN SCHOOLS.

POST-PRIMARY PUPILS. (From Our Correspondent.) ASHBURTON, Tuesday. Doubt as to the benefits of the milk, issue to post-primary pupils was expressed by the principal of the Ashbuiton Technical High School, Mr. W. Crawford, to-day. He said it might be wise to have medical opinion on each pupil. It was undeniable that benefits must accrue as a result of the milk issue to primary school pupils, but the case of post-primary pupils was altogether different. Fewer pupils were taking the issue now than at the start of the year, and he was of the opinion that eeeondarv school pupils should be given a medical examination to ascertain whether they were fit subjects for taking milk daily. It might be wise to restrict'the issue or reduce the size of the bottles, for in many cases not all the contents were consumed.
