FINAL TRIBUTES PAID

WELLINGTON", this duv. An eloquent tribute to the Into Sir Thomas VVilford was paid this morning by a large and representative congregation in St. James' Anglican Church. Lower Hutt. which included live Cabinet Ministers, three judges, including the Chief Justice. Sir Michael Myers, representatives of legal, banking and commercial circles, and representatives of the numerous local bodies and organisations with which Sir Thomas was identified, including the Wellington City Council and the Wellington Harbour Hoard. The Rev. H. I". K. Fry. in a panegyric. -aid Sir Thomas hail given years in the service of fiod. King and country, and in his passing the Church had lost a faithful member, the Empire had lost a faithful and devoted servant, the country had lost n prominent leader, and they themselves hud lost a true friend. His motto surely had been "Service." The pall-bearers were Mr. H. F. O'Learv, K.C., representing the New Zealand Law Society. Mr. J. Andrews, Mayor of Lower Hutt and also representing the Wellington Harbour Board. .11. W. H. HoberUhawe, representing the National Bank. Mr. T. E. V. Seddon and Mr. W. P. Hotumervillc. The cortege proceeded to the Wellington (.emetel'y, where tlie remains were I cremated.
