AMIGO FIT.
TO RACE AT TRENTHAM.
SAM'S CHOICE RESUMES. LOWEXBERG'S GOOD PROGRESS
Amigo has not been asked to do any last work since racing at Wanganui, but is in great heart, and with one or two gallops should strip at his best at Trenthuin (says our Wanganui correspondent). In Amigo Mr. L. G. Paul has one of the very best oi the Beau Peres.
War Lap got into a hurdle very hard early in his race at Wanganui, and this made him lose confidence. This accounted tor his disappointing showing. The Lapidary gelding was very sore afterwards, but made a good recovery, and is to be tried out again on the tlat either at Otaki or Dannevirke. Should his form warrant it War Lap will go on to Trentham for the high-weight events. H. Johnston now has Kremhield also in his stable. The rising three-year-old son of Siegfried and Left is owned by the Messrs. Smith Bros. Sam's Choice has been put into work again after a 12 months' spell. The Colossus gelding looks in good shape to begin another preparation, and if he goes on all right he should pay his way next tea son. W. 11. Dwyer has kept Lowenberg in steady woik since Wanganui, and the Lord Quex gelding appears to be making good progi ess. He is to be given a race at Otaki. and this should brighten him up for the Trentham meeting. Should Lowenberg go on the right way he will proi.ably be taken to Australia in the spring for the Melbourne and Caulticld CupsMiddle, in the same stable, is rapidly getting into racing shape again, and it appears only a matter of him standing up to his work for the Centrepiece gelding to win some more money either on the fiat or over hurdles for Mr. Lan Higgie. Kntail and Homily were sent out to Koat-anui for a few weeks' spell after the , Wanganui meeting, but they are to be ' brought in again in a couple of weeks ! to be got ready for the Wanganui spring I meeting.
Rehearsal is being kept pottering about, and Portal, Submission and Dynasty are also in easy work. They will not be seen out again uutil the Wanganui spring meeting. Artful Dodger was not started at Wanganui as he had not been, up long enough. The Danilof gelding is coming on well and will be seen out at Otaki. after which he may race at Trentham in one or two of the shorter hurdle events. Airing is now owned by Mr. J. Nicholson, who wa6 made a present of the Cockpit gelding after the Wanganui meeting. Purchased bv Mr. F. Bristol at the vearling sales in if»32 for 25gs, Airing won a lot of money for that sportsman. Although he has lost much of his former brilliance, the gelding might do well over hurdles if put to that game. Eurotas failed to do any good at Wanganui, but lie may be seen to better advantage at Ot iki next week. The Pantheon gelding is a good looker and should yet reward L. G. Butler for the care and attention he has bestowed on the geldins. Black Cat i« now located at Fordell, having been purchased by Mr. McA. Duncan ns a brood mare. She has a filly foal to Iliad and is in foal to the same horse. Ohui. the dam of Ruatiti, is to go to Tiderace this season. Her Posterity colt is growing and should furnish into a. good two-year-old. He has been named Routii. Ohui is in foal to Bulandsbar, as is also Waipiro, another of Mr. Duncan's mares. Mother Superior has a colt foal to Iliad who bears a striking resemblance to his dam.
