MANY nOTXfi TO AMERICA
(I«y Telpjrrnph.—Tress Association.) WKLLIXIiTOX, this day. Thousands of European refugees are crowding the jiorts of Central America and the \Vo~t Indies waiting until they obtain ]terniis«ion to seek a living in American countries or other parts of the world, said- Mr. W. Willncr, an Italian migrant, who arrived in Wellington bv the Tainaroa en route to Svdnev.
Mr. Willner said that he had lived in Italy for 40 odd years. Now they thought it best to leave Italy and the rest of Europe far behind them. He himself was in the timber industry, and was going to join relatives at Port Kembla. At Balboa, he eaid, there had been some 200 refugees awaiting admission to Contra! and South American countries. However, this was as nothing to the situation in some of the West Indien ports, particularly Cuba. Here more than 0000 refugees were awaiting their turn to enter the United States. Immigraton had been arranged on a quota basis, and all had been promised permission to enter America, but the process of absorption would take >nor two vears.
