Coleman, 8.M.. in the Hawera Police Court imposed Hiiph totalling £273 on seven licensed who pleaded guilty to charge* of hookninkhig, keeping common gaming house*, attainting in keeping such premises, and being found thereon.
The accused were William Rider, who was convicted and fined £125 for bookinakitig at Hawera nn .Tune 3. and £25 for keeping a common ginning house: Inn Joseph Crawford, who wan convicted nrid Hiicd £25 on n charge of book making rn<l £10 for assisting in keeping « Raminl,: house) Ff 11 jjrli Henry La very, who wan Kiivicted and fined £30 and £10 on the Hume charges nn those preferred ajxainwt r'lden Alexander Creighton Lobbair. vliD was convicted unci lined £20 and ilO on the name charges as preferred I'finliifit Crawifordi Albert Holt, who wan runvluted and fined £15 on a charge of bookmaklng; Reveli Amnion and Charles Henry Norman Shirley were convicted iind nned £1 10/ each on charpcti of being found on gaining house premises.
