TNVERCARGILL, this day. The total catch of mutton birds this season shows a large decrease compared with former years. The catch in a normal eeaeon is about 300,000, but thie season there is a decrease of about 30 to 40 per cent. This is attributed by a leading merchant to the stormy weather and better economic conditions resulting in fewer Maoris going to the islands. '
