PROBLEMS FOR FARMERS. (B.y Telesraph.—Tress Association.) ASHBURTOX, Wednesday. About 4IMI farmers attended a meeting •ailed by tlie Mid-Canterbury provincial executive of tlie Farmers' Union to consider farm in:: problems and to hear an address by the Dominion president. Mr. \Y. W. Mulholland. The following resolution was carried: "This meeting believes the only sound policy of improving the lot of the farmer lies along the line of reduced costs. With that end in view, we are of opinion that the work of the Royal Commission should lie pushed rapidly forward. Should reductions fail to mater : aiise prior to the next export >ea-on. we tl'cn strontrly support the fleeing of the exchange as a medium of bringing about a more balanced economy."
