BOARD OF STUDIES.
TRAINING COLLEGE. CAPACITIES OF STUDENTS. A recent amendment to the regulations governing teachers' training colleges provides that for each training college there is to be appointed a committee of advice—a Board of Studies consisting of the principal <>f the college. the senior inspector of schools of the Education District, one representative of the Education Board, and two representatives of the Professorial Board of the University College. The Auckland Education Board was informed this morning that the duties of the Board of Studies will be to assist in co-ordinating the work of the training college with that of the University College and. in particular, to determine the courses of (study best puited to the individual needs and capacities of the students. Mr. F. A. Snell: Is this the first step to bring the training eol'.eges under the control of the universities? Mr. T. U. Wells, a member of the Auckland University College Council, said that this wae not the case. Mr. C. R. Munro was appointed to represent the Education Board on the new bodv.
