APPEAL COMMENDED.
RECRUITS FOR N.Z. DEFENCE.
RETURNED SOLDIERS' SUPPORT. (By Telpgraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Dominion executive of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association met last night and passed a resolution supporting the Prime Minister's appeal for recruit* to the idefence forces.
Members stressed the fact that the association had each year passed a resolution urging the need for adequate defence, and consequently it was gratifying to learn the Government had taken action.
The resolution stated that while it was realised that volunteering was a matter for the individual the executive urged all ex-servicemen to stipi>ort the association by responding to the appeal, and pointed out that the training and experience of returned soldiers would encourage the service of younger men who were just as anxious as returned soldiers for adequate defence enrolment. One member said it would give returned men a chance to become a "real Digger" once more.
