£580,000 EXTEXSTOX PROPOSAL.
Owing to the present shortage of London funds the Associated Chambers of Commerce have written to the Maxtor in Charge of the Printing and Stationery Department asking that the proposed erection in Wellington of a new building for his Department, officially estimated to cost £580 000 be reviewed. '
Mr. A. G. criticised the Governments proposal, which implied a lar-e expansion of the business of the office He said that the Government had not given any information as to whether a proportion of this printing could lu ,t be done by private firms. »J t is almost a crime to spend so large a sum of moncv on tins project at the present time/' he
