FROM CHINA TO ENGLAND. (From Our Own Correspondent.) CALCUTTA. May 1. 1 A trip by car from China to England iis being undertaken by a British electrical engineer, Mr. Gilbert H. Jolly, formerly of Shanghai. Starting on February 7 from Kwong Chowng, lie travelled, via Indo-China. to the north of Cambodia and then came to Angkor Watt, noted for its temple ruins. - He proceeded south through Pnom'penh 'along the coast to Siam, experiencing a I little difficulty near Bangkok, where, owing to the non-existence of roads, he tried to cross paddy fields, but had to . return. He then attempted to traverse the 1 Southern Shan States, where a?ain he experienced difficulty owing to bad t roads, but at last managed to pet on 5 to the road in Burma at Mandalay.
